Travis began riding horses at the early age of three. He spent the first half of his life on the trails and rode pretty much every gaited breed from registered paso's, walkers, and mutts, you name it he probably rode it. During his pre-teen and early teenage years he started adding in training on his own pony's and next he was starting young horses from scratch. After many years of being around and riding horses practically every day he was offered a job by a lady who wasn't far from where he lived to start horses for her, the horses that Travis began working with were Rocky Mountain Horses. After months of being there Travis was given the head trainer job at 15. By 16 Travis was showing horses for this lady and was becoming successful in the show ring. He did not have a mentor in this arena, which later was a blessing in disguise, he had to pick up on things as he went. Because he was showing against the best natural gaited trainers in the world it was either perfect the craft or find a different job, getting another job was not fathomable. Travis eventually went on to become one of the youngest if not the youngest trainer ever to win the Park pleasure World Grand Championship at the age of 18, at that time this had the most prestige "title wise" one could win. He spent the next 17 years smashing records in world grand championships, versatility awards, conformation grands, western grand, gaited dressage championship, trail obstacle events, and is still putting up never before done accomplishments to this very day. We understand the show world is probably undesirable to you, and you could care less about this, so why does it matter? Because the methods are proven, it's easy to get on social media or online and say you're a great trainer, but unless you have competed against the best in the world year after year after year after year to prove that you are great, it's only an assumption. One could say they are a great pilot and post it on social media without having any true experience of having to be a great pilot other than flying their two seater plane around their county, but would you want that pilot to fly you over sea's in a commercial plane or would you want to use a pilot that has logged hours and hours of flights in the air force under stressful flying condition's and then later retired to flying commercial planes? We know most could care less about showing, the records are just a way to show you the methods are real and healthy, it's impossible for a horse to hold up years and years under unhealthy training methods. We only want our horses, and horses we train to be the best they can be, regardless of what that ceiling is. We don't make show horses or trail horses, we make good horses!
We believe starting a horse is the most important time of a horses under saddle career and we do not take it lightly. Our process has been developed over many years from success and failures which led us to not only a super successful, healthy, and humane way to start horses in the gaited horse industry but in the equine industry as a whole. We will continue to add videos here and on Facebook at "Travis Robinson's Gaited Equine". Thanks for watching!
Recent video of a filly we put two months on for a customer. She had never been ridden until she came to us.
We trained this horse for a customer who bought him from the walking horse show circuit and wanted to turn him into a trail riding horse. Extremely pacey, even with weighted shoes. We pulled the weighted shoes and went against the grain by using a lite shoe (which in theory) will make him pace worse, BUT we taught him full body collection which allowed us to eliminate help from shoeing.
Recent Video of a filly we trained for a customer from scratch, she had no under saddle experience prior to us. This video not only shows us the trainers riding her but also shows her owner who had no previous instructions, nor had he ever ridden a horse trained by us, that's important to me because it shows that correctly starting a horse makes is easy on everyone! Including the OWNERS! This filly was also left unshod during the duration of the whole video, we do not use shoes to help the gait, only to provide protection if needed. If shoes are needed for the horse to gait, we believe the horse has not been taught to gait properly.
This video will thoroughly explain the pace side of the horse.
This video will thoroughly explain the trot side of the horse.
Three of the for horses are Rocky Mountain Horse Open World Grand Champions. All four are World Champions.
Several years ago we had a coming 3 year old stud named JustinTime. We had watched Travis Robinson show horses with The RMHA, KMSHA and UMH show circuits. Travis always seemed to ride with very gentle hands and his horses always did very well. We made the decision to ask Travis if he would be interested in training JustinTime and thankfully his answer was yes. After a few short months Justin made his show debut... and came home with the first of many blue ribbons. Needless to say we were hooked. In our first full season our 3 year old stallion sailed through the competition and his State, World and International titles were many. Travis brought him out as a 4 year old and JustinTime dominated his competition winning everything from Trail Obstacle to Open 4 Gate, to just about every under saddle trail class you could think of. JustinTime was the 2008 Judges Choice Award winner at The United Mountain Horse World Show... that was the culmination of everything that Travis Robinson put into our young stallion. In my humble opinion Travis is the Best of the Best. Natural Horsemanship at it's best. If you are looking for a trainer that can and will take your horse to the next level then by all means contact Travis T-Ride Robinson.
I highly recommend and support Travis Robinson for all of your gaited horse needs. Travis is not only a proficient trainer he is an exceptional horseman. He makes the horses welfare and long term health a priority over desired performance. His husbandry is top notch whether it’s a horse in training or his own he is breeding and raising. My horse has been in Travis’s training program for four months and I couldn’t be happier. I have owned and cared for my horse everyday for nine years. I live five hours away so I was uneasy about leaving him and not seeing him every day. Travis made me feel comfortable by reassuring me this is what my horse needed and he would take the best care of him. Travis kept his word providing the best care and sending me video clips/pictures of my horse which gave me the peace of mind I needed. I trust Travis with my baby and have 1000% confidence in his care and training from the results I have seen. When my horse arrived Travis had me ride my horse while watching then he rode him. After Travis’s initial evaluation he gave me a detailed explanation of what my horse was doing and what he would correct. My horse is 14 and had a minor injury to his left hind leg that caused him to not full extend. Travis’s knowledge and 20 + years experience using correct methods my horse has gained strength in that leg and is moving better. I have seen tremendous improvement in my horse’s gait performance as well as his body condition. I am currently taking lessons with Travis learning how to keep my horse and myself in the proper form to gait while in the saddle. I am able to control my horses speed at a gait which I could not do prior to Travis’s training. During my lessons Travis is patient, tactfully providing honest feedback on opportunities for improvement and praises a job well done. His positive attitude is encouraging and gives me confidence to continue moving forward to accomplish my riding goals. I have spent many hours watching Travis handling and training horses of all ages while visiting and taking lessons. The horses love and respect him as much as he does them. He is gentle yet assertive and reinforces good behavior with consistent praise. It is a absolute pleasure to watch such a dignified talented horseman. Travis is the BEST of the best and is very humble, kind, caring, considerate, respectful, patient, compassionate gentleman. He pays attention to every detail to manage and operate his business with the highest level of quality, excellence, and integrity. He’s committed to serving his clients taking in to consideration each individuals situation and needs then devises a solution to meet those needs to the fullest. This is why I will being training and buying ALL of my horses from Travis. OUTSTANDING JOB TRAVIS and team!!!!!! Thank you all for taking the best care of me and my baby!!! Perfect score ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!! 🥇🏆🤩

Travis runs a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ operation, He listens very carefully to what is important to you. We had lengthy conversations about what I was looking for, and my goals for my filly. Travis always answered all my questions to the fullest and in detail. During the time my filly was under his care I received regular updates and pictures and videos showing her progress. I was very impressed with his training facility and his team that helps him. I was also very impressed with the care my horse received, it is very obvious Travis feeds top quality hay and grain. My horse was in excellent physical condition and appearance when I brought her home. The results from the training my horse received were beyond my expectations⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The only thing more impressive than Travis’s training and general overall care he gave my horse, was his integrity! To trust someone with your prized possession is a big deal, and I can honestly say I have 💯% confidence in Travis Robinson’s Gaited Equine 🥇🏆
Meet TR’s Aristocrat my new Rocky Mountain gelding, turning six in June. I’ve always dreamed of owning a Rocky and after a grueling search I found him through Travis Robinson’s Gaited Equine. Travis has trained several World Grand Champion Rockies including Aristocrat’s sire: Primetime. He bred, raised and trained Aristocrat starting him at 3 ½. When the time came for me to pick up my horse in Paris KY, Travis suggested I stay 2-3 days to get acquainted with Aristocrat, have a riding lesson and see his round pen routine. It was important to Travis that we were a good match and off to a good start. Establishing a connection with Aristocrat before taking him home gave me confidence. Now 2 months later, I couldn’t be happier. His gait is awesome and he has the classic Rocky temperament.
If honesty, integrity, candor, talent and expertise are important to you in a trainer, Travis Robinson possesses all of these qualities and more. I've known Travis for over 15 years and the quality of his work product remains unchanged: it's always superb! Travis brings out the very best in each horse. He is consistent, honest, thoughtful, and I trust him implicitly with my horses! Travis has helped me and my family hugely in these many years, and goes above and beyond to facilitate, accommodate, and care for both his horses and clients. Travis is the best! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
